The Barnet Mash

Don’t Call Me Dave is fed up again! Most readers probably realised as much with his last blogpost. Reporting the truth is tiresome. As all of Barnet’s responsible bloggers will testify, it takes an enormous amount of time and effort to research and report the news accurately.

Although DCMD enjoys blogging (with both hands), he is very busy with his work and studies (and occasionally trying to have a life) and simply finds it too difficult to find enough time to write the type of articles which used to attract 500+ readers per day.

In a Eureka moment, DCMD realised that there was a simple solution to this dilemma. Instead of researching the news, it is much easier to simply make it up. There are many national newspapers which have been doing this for decades. So, without further ado, please change your bookmarks and visit Barnet’s latest entrant to the blogosphere - The Barnet Mash. Never a true word will ever be spoken!

nice title: I see that the LBBarnet's generous sponsorship of hiphop artistes has had a far reaching influence ...

DCMD,

You should have stayed with the odd blog on here throughtout the acdemic bit. I just hope you don't morph into David Duff a yokel from Somerset, it (or is it whom)has much to say about Barnet

There are plenty of bloggers in Barnet reporting the real news. When DCMD started Not The Barnet Times, Rog T was the only other citizen journalist then active in the Borough (Messrs Statler & Waldorf were in one of their many sherry induced comas at the time). Competition is a good thing, but the market is becoming saturated. What was needed was a new blog that does not even pretend to take itself seriously or tell the truth. When it is all made up, the stories don’t take quite so long to write.

blimey: I hadn't realised I have been taking myself seriously, until you pointed this out. This is terrible. I am going to stop blogging at once. Goodbye all.xxx

My plan to rid the borough of swivel-eyed blogs is working.

Perhaps you could automate the copying of Barnet Council press releases straight on to "The Barnet Mash", as they are published.

Then just add some Blogger ad generation, and sit back while the world reads it all, and you earn some money.
